When is the next Arenzville Burgoo? The Arenzville Burgoo is generally scheduled on the Friday and Saturday FOLLOWING Labor Day. For 2016, the dates of the celebration are September 9th and 10th. Preparations begin long before this, and volunteers are particularly welcome on Thursday (Sept. 8th) to help clean and prepare fresh vegetables for the soup. (In 2017, the dates for the Burgoo will be September 8th and 9th.)
What happens at the Arenzville Burgoo? This two-day celebration is family-oriented. Games, carnival rides, concessions, contests, and a pet parade are attractive for the kids. Each year, the town hosts local talent groups as well as well known names to provide entertainment and music. Click here for the 2016 Schedule of Events.
