- I went to the Burgoo in 1997 with my friend Joe Lovekamp (son of Jim and Karen Lovekamp). We drove 24 hours straight from Cody, Wyoming and made it to Arenzville in time to take a nap and eat some Burgoo!

- Recently I left my picture in my Army uniform with a lady at the Arenzville Bank who said it would get to the proper party to be placed on the Web Site. Did it ever make connection?

Webmaster's note: Yes, Bill, the picture did make the right connection! I also shared it with Patty in the Legion Auxiliary, who is also interested in compiling a photo record of Arenzville servicemen.

- My mother, Alma Ferne Ore McKenzie was born near Arenzville in 1929. I have been to many Burgoo's in my life. I've been unable to attend basically since I started high school due to time and distance restrictions.
-
- I have lots of memories of attending Burgoo. I was born September 7th, and made Mom miss Burgoo the year I was born (1972). We always took our camper trailer, and for years camped next to the entertainment stand, and after that in the ball park up on the hill. I remember buying 10 cent books at the library during the book sale, my Dad going to visit with the men cooking the soup late at night, my Mom playing Bingo and visiting with all her old friends. For the first time in years, I should be able to attend Burgoo this September and plan on taking my family for their first Burgoo. I'll find out if my 5 year old daughter can do any better in the foot races than I ever did as a child! :-)

- Signed the guestbook back in 2001. I taught at Trinity from 1970 to 1974 while my wife Darlene taught down the street at the Public School. Again, we would both love to hear from any of our former students. We always talk about coming back for Burgoo...perhaps this will be the year. She's a Real Estate Broker and I'm Program Director at the Wisconsin State Patrol Academy at Fort McCoy so we both find it difficult to get time off, but we're trying!

- I used to spend time every summer since 1950 in Arenzville with my grandfather John Schnitker. My fondest memories lie in your wonderful little town with salt-of-the-earth folks. If I had a choice now, I would live in Arenzville. My recent visit to A.C. Hart's 100th birthday celebration was one of the highlights of my life.

Great web site! It's good too see pictures and information about home, especially for those of us who can't return as often as we'd like.

- I will always call Arenzville my home. I haven't been back in about four years, but I can still remember everything about it. There is no other place I have been that people are as nice and friendly as the people of Arenzville. I will finally be making my way back for the play at Triopia and I cannot wait to see all of my old friends. I love this place!
